Kayo came to New York City from Japan over 30 years ago and has since created a name for herself among the "up and coming artists" in the New York and LA area. Her work hangs in many established galleries, offices, and commercial spaces and they range from paintings, installations, and wall mounts to decorative objects, and sculptures. Kayo's artwork has been on display in many esteemed shows and exhibits in New York, LA, and Miami since 2014 and most recently has taken her work overseas to exhibits in Spain. She is inspired by emotions and how psychology influences those emotions (she loves Carl Jung), as well as natures beauty and colors. Kayo's eye for textures, line work, and expressionistic tones is the modern yet sophisticated art Claire was looking to complement the brand and the collection's aesthetics. Claire happened upon Kayos' artwork on a chance encounter while walking along the Bowery in New York City. She knew immediately that this would be the artwork that she would adorn her designs with. Kayos artwork is expressive, emotional, and full of interesting layers, colors, and linework. After meeting to discuss Claire's idea for the collaboration in Bryant Park a few weeks later, the two instantly hit it off and began working on ideas right away. Kayo and Claire are collaborating on designing a beautiful, sophisticated, and artistic lining for PARDINGTON COLLECTIVES' first collection for men and women, as well as original artwork that is sold and made exclusively for our customer. With Kayo's talent for fine art and Claire's eye for style, this partnership truly represents what Claire hoped to achieve with this brand:beautiful things and meaningful collaborations.
